leave his sleigh behind.
The Jolly Ol' Elf gives his reindeer a break during

2006 Christmas Ornament |
 |
The 2006 N.C. Transportation Museum Christmas
ornament is now available in the Gift Station!
This year's ornament is of the 1939 Railway
Express Agency Truck that was recently restored
and is now located in the Roundhouse. The REA
Truck was dedicated on October 14, 2006 in memory
of Lester Brown (1926-2006), automotive historian
and board
member of the N.C. Transportation Museum
Foundation (1979 2006). Brown donated this 1939
REA Truck to the museum s foundation and
spearheaded the restoration efforts.
This Chevrolet truck is representative of those
used by the Railway Express Agency to move
packages to and from railroad terminals throughout
the United States during the 1930s and 40s.

REA Truck
- Ornaments are $16.95 each and because
